Marlowe Homestead reviews the guides, plans and courses people buy online when they want to depend a little less on the grid, the tap and the supermarket.
Water catchment and off-grid water. Battery and power storage. Food storage, growing and preserving. Workshop and DIY builds. The subjects are practical, and so is the question we try to answer for each product: what does it actually contain, what does it cost, and who should not buy it.
What you will find here
One product at a time, read properly. What is in it. What it costs today, including the upsells that appear after the checkout. What the guarantee is and who honours it. What conditions it depends on, because most of these products depend on something — humidity, climate, a workshop, a certain amount of time — and the sales page rarely says so.
And the part usually missing: who should skip it.
Every product covered here is sold by someone else. We are not the seller, the author or the publisher of anything we review, and we do not ship, support or refund anything. Those go to the retailer, and we say where.
Reviews
The first reviews are being written. When one goes live it will be listed here, and each will carry its disclosure at the top of the page rather than buried at the bottom.
How this is funded
Through affiliate commission. If you buy through a link here, the retailer pays us a percentage and you pay exactly the same price you would have paid otherwise. No seller pays for coverage, for a rating or for a position, and the reservations stay in the review even when they cost us the sale. A word about safety
A fair amount of this category involves water, electricity, batteries and tools. Nothing on this site is an engineering assessment, and no review replaces the manufacturer's instructions or your local codes. If a build looks like it needs a qualified person, we say so instead of filling the gap ourselves.
