1. This is information, not professional advice
Marlowe Homestead publishes editorial reviews of products sold by other companies. Nothing here is engineering advice, electrical advice, construction advice, legal advice or financial advice, and nothing here is written with knowledge of your property, your climate, your equipment or your local regulations.
2. Safety, plainly
Much of this category involves water, electricity, batteries, chemicals and power tools. Those things injure people every year.
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions for any equipment, and your local codes, over anything written here or in any product we review.
- Work involving mains electricity, gas or structural changes should be done by a qualified person in your jurisdiction.
- Lead-acid batteries contain sulphuric acid and can vent explosive gas. Any battery work needs ventilation, eye protection and gloves.
- Water you collect or condense is not drinking water until it has been treated and tested appropriately for your situation.
3. We do not verify manufacturer claims by testing
When a seller states an output — gallons per day, watts, hours of runtime, years of shelf life — we report it as their claim and, where we can, compare it with published figures for that category. We do not measure it ourselves and we do not endorse it. Real-world results depend on conditions we cannot see from here.
4. No outcome is promised
Nothing on this site promises a saving, a yield, a level of independence or a result of any kind. Where a review mentions numbers, they are the seller's numbers or published third-party figures, attributed as such.
5. We are not the seller
Every product reviewed here belongs to someone else. We do not manufacture, ship, support, warrant or refund anything. Purchases are contracts between you and the retailer, and their terms govern. See refunds and support for where to take a problem.
